On 30 September 2019, the One Health Platform organized a one-day meeting at the Natural History Museum of Berlin in Germany, which served as the formal launch of VAXVOX - Science talks. The launch meeting was attended by different vaccination advocates worldwide.
The theme of the meeting was “The benefits of vaccination to mankind: past, present and future”. The programme focused on specific examples showcasing the benefits that vaccination has brought/might bring to mankind. In its entirety, the programme addressed successful vaccination strategies in the past and discussed challenges in the present and the future. A panel of experts addressed vaccination hesitancy from different angles, including risk communication of vaccines.
Every lecture of the meeting was life-recorded. For audiences everywhere to hear our message, the digital footage will soon be disseminated worldwide via VAXVOX’s network and the vaccine advocates’ networks.
VAXVOX is a credible reference network of spokespersons on science-related vaccine issues and thus unites vaccination advocates globally, many of whom are courageous yet often solitary voices. Its aim is to communicate pro-actively and serve as a point of contact for the outside world.
